Many times it is cheaper to get health insurance through a group health insurance policy. The cost of health insurance is lower in cases of larger groups that offer insurance benefits to their members. If the size of the group is relatively small, then it may not make so much of a difference in health insurance premiums. You should also factor in features of the policy when you are making this assessment.
In group health insurance policies, often, the terms are preferable when compared to retail health insurance. These terms include no waiting periods for taking the benefits of a group policy, including those for pre-existing diseases, treatment of specifically named ailments, and maternity.
When making this comparison, other factors include checking for room rent, quality of servicing being generally better for group policies, and refund of premium on a pro-rata basis if you were to leave the group without claiming before the end of the policy period.
