In health insurance co Pyment is a restricted amount or percentage which will be deduct from the payable amount for the claim, and that deducted amount patient will bear at the time of claim whether it is cashless claim or reimbursement, this co payment amount will vary insurance to insurance and the plan which insured is opting at the time of inception or renewal of the policy, Example: If a insured person has a helath insurance claim where 10% co payment will be applicable on each claim and he/She has registered a claim of Rupees 100000/and after all deduction including non payable, non medical payable amount is 90000/-now co payment will be applicable on 90K( 90000*10/100=9000) Now amount which will be paid to insured will be 90000-9000=81000/- so insured person has to bear the cost of non payable amount.
